My School Days

As my Dad used to work in a Central Govt. undertaking, I spent my childhood in various schools, getting the opportunity to meet with large no. of peers and also had the benefit of being influenced by some of the very good teachers. I first started going to K.G in St. Mary’s School in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh , India. I spent three years in that school. I studied class 2 in Morning Star in Behraich ,of Uttar Pradesh. I studied Class 3 & 4 in St. Paul’s , Shahjahanpur , Uttar Pradesh.. After that I studied for 1 year each in St. H.N. School , and St. Don Bosco respectively (both in Lakhimpur – Kheri). It was my last school in Uttar Pradesh.. My dad got transferred and I landed to Raiganj, West Bengal… Honesty speaking, it was a whole new world for me at that age… Different culture and language.. But soon I was a part of it too. At Raiganj, I studied in Bethany Mission School, from where I completed my Class 10 under CBSE. The 4 years in Raiganj are memorable days of my scool life.. In these years I first learnt to ride a bicycle, to use internet, etc.. These 4 years are very close to my heart.

After completing my Class 10 , I went to Midnapore, where our ancestral home is situated . I completed my 10+2 from Sacred Heart High School, Kharagpore.. Those were the fun days… In those days , we were always ready to start a fight with anyone and everyone… Sacred Heart is also very close to my heart.. Ft. Peter Mark was the Principle of the school when we were in Class 12.. He was strict but was according to me a good man…

After my +2 in Commerce Stream, I got enrolled in K.D. College of Commerce (now known as K.D. College of Commerce & General Studies) under Vidyasagar University, Midnapore.

My College Years

K.D. College back then was much of a school… I mean regular classes.. Serious studies and all… I got some good friends in K.D. College who almost forced me go to class and study properly..

But in the Second and third year , due to some important reasons, I had to stop going to college regularly.. The professors were very helpful and understanding and they allowed me to sit in the exam…

It should be clear to you guys now that, I don’t have much to say bout my college life. But surely it wasn’t that bad after all .. While in college, I participated in an university level Debate competition and was awarded the Second prize…. Man! I was happy…. It was the first prize that I got in such a big event and it was a cash prize along with a certificate. . After that I participated in many college and external competitions and won many prizes and certificates…

Some of the prizes that I won in my College Years : -

1.) University Level Debate Competition – 1 time

2.) College Level Self Composed Poetry Competition – 3 times

3.) College Level Debate Competition – 2 times

4.) College Level Quiz Competition – 1 time (as a team)

5.) Block Level W.B. Youth Festival Competition – 1 time

** Besides these I had been a volunteer of NSS during the three years of my College life and had actively participated in the various projects of NSS.

First Step in the Professional World

When my articleship training started as a part of the Chartered Accountancy Course that I was pursuing, I first came to know ‘bout the toughness of the real world. . This world was totally different from the world I was familiar with during my school & college life.. At first it was a shock to me… but soon I was addicted to the fast paced professional life … Even now I enjoy the feeling of being busy and waiting for the weekends that would be completely mine ;-) Professional world to me is a no – nonsense world coz, here other peoples’ money depends on my actions. . Being a part of various Bank Audits, Local Audits had been an excellent learning experience for me…

While staying at Kolkata , I accidentally got the cell no. of one of my friends from Class 10, Barnan Das , and through him I traced most of my old friends..
